10 Years of STUPID

Started this day by watching the Guardian's video about the ten year anniversary of Age of STUPID.

Then posted a comment to Franny the producers of this remarkable film.

This is the comment:
[I've seen your film at least seven times and organised two public showings here in East Lancashire. Watching the video on the Guardian link now my heart hurts so much and tears are rolling down my cheeks and plopping onto the keyboard - How can we continue to be so stupid? (and I'm only 2/3 of the way through it.)I am at the part where you are kissing the wind turbine.

It is remarkable that this little wind farm is there next to the ploughed field. I wonder if your research over the years has brought to your attention how much C02 is released by our current agricultural practices.
Here in East Lancashire I'm part of a small start-up business which aims to educate farmers and all who tend ground (football pitch groundsmen, golf course, cricket field, local authority recreation grounds etc) to vermiculture and to more widely inform decision makers of the carbon capture and storage potential of vermiculture.
I also manage a small community-owned shop - ONE planet shop, 54 Abbey Street, Accrington.
ACT for Earth has no funding in place, as yet, and it is my thought that to really get our enterprise into first gear we need collaborators and patrons., We have cultivated and are maintaining growth of our worm ranch of millions upon of worms (which also is diverting waste from landfill).
We need to establish UK based academic research, as currently it is the Americas and India and \some African countries that are embracing the potential of vermiculture.
Here's a link to the beginnings of our blog. We are just entering the publicity and marketing phase of the enterprises development and will have social media presence soon.
Your thoughts?]
